Art Sculpture make out of Rattan in Sentosa

A lady called me from London to assist in a project in Singapore. She told me the project involves making a Sculpture that is made of Rattan. At first I was still wondering if this is real.But it is really happening. She is Alison Ireland and her project Artist is Charlie Whinney (www.charliewhinney.com). They will be coming to Singapore for a few weeks and also be using my factory to create the sculpture.

The rattan needs to be bent in many areas in order to form the sculpture. Therefore, we have to first construct a steam chamber to heat up the Rattan.When the rattan is fully steamed, we would have to pull them out to bend it around the steel frame immediately before it cools down.
Here is how it looks when it is finished.The next thing will be vanishing. First we will need to confirm the colors.We compare the material around the sculpture in order to get the colour that we want.Due to the different colours requirement, the stainning process is in a few stages.
